He was incredibly innovative and unique, and almost every guitarist in rock and blues has been influenced by him since. He was able to play fast runs and demonstrate incredible technique while still playing musically and connecting to his early blues roots. He transformed rock and roll and was one of the few African American artists of the time to gain acceptance with white audiences, opening the door for many others.
