Unique Features: John Scofield has been in many different bands and has recorded with many different artisits such as piano player Hal Galper, and formed a trio at one point with Steve Swallow and Adam Naussbaum. He specializes in finger plucking and sometimes plays backup for different artists and groups for public performances. For example, in the one video, John Scofiled backs up John Mayer on Saturday Night Live.

Great Qualities: John Scofield is known for his insane guitar solos and amazing back up qualities. Insane finger picking abilities and position changes.

Unique Qualities: People such as Johnny Cash have been inspired to cover his music, He has a style of finger picking named after him, He is in both the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame as well as the Country Music Hall of Fame

Great Qualities: He won a Grammy for Best Country Instrumental for a duet with Chet Atkins, He played in a wide variety of roots music genres as well as many genres of country and western, He was one of the earlier guitar players to do it and was known for his rich chord progression, harmonics, slides, bends, and rapid changes of key.
